I have been messing about in boats for a very long time. It is no exaggeration to say I am the best in the world at what I do, and so far I have amassed 37 boating world records.

To my knowledge, I am the only person who has separately motor boated and sailed around the world. From this unique experience I now know what type of craft we need to build, not only to smash the existing powerboat circumnavigation world record, but to set a benchmark that will be nearly impossible to beat. Many people have raced around the world, but you can count on the fingers of one hand the numbers that have successfully attempted to motor round in record time. I now have all the answers to design, build and attempt the fastest Circumnavigation of the Globe ever.

I have assembled a group that is the “Winning Team” to take the coveted World Record. I have chosen the best:

  1. Crew who are dedicated, and experts in their own field

  2. Engines, gearboxes & drive systems, which will ensure ultra efficiency and reliability, while being highly environmentally friendly

  3. Navigation equipment that will allow the crew to drive the craft in complete safety during the day or night

  4. Boatyard which is dedicated to building this very special craft to a standard that has never been seen before

  5. Media team which knows what it takes to be seen in all four corners of the world

  6. Formula One style road crew who will be ready to fly around the world, making all the necessary arrangements at the four fuel stops

I have left nothing to chance. We will be triumphant in getting this record, giving a welcome boost of “Feelgood Factor” not just to Britain, but to anyone who loves boats, who is excited by adventure, or who marvels at the spirit of human endeavour. We intend to make history. We’d like you to be part of it.

What is the circumnavigation record?

An attempt to complete the fastest ever circumnavigation of the globe in a powerboat. A fully British designed Manufactured and campaigned Super Boat that is the fastest and most fuel efficient powerboat to circumnavigate the globe for the much coveted UIM World Record currently held by New Zealand in as time of 60 days 23 hours 49 minutes.

Who are the Great British Circumnavigation Record?

Portsmouth based Alan Priddy is the world’s leader in offshore expeditions and is the current holder of 37 World Records.  Alan is working with a carefully chosen team of highly driven like minded professionals, some of whom are also crew for the voyage to bring this record back to Britain.

How fast will they go?

It’s not a question of how fast they will go although the boats top speed is circa 50 mph. The voyage will be run on averages. The current World Record was set at an average speed of 16.8 knots (19 mph) so the teams are evenly matched.

How long is the race?

The British team’s route is approximately 23,850 nautical miles.

How will they refuel?

The World Record Authorities stipulate that the boat has to fuel in recognised harbours. Further details about this can be found under the ‘route’.

Who are the crew?

The crew are Alan Priddy, Jan Falkowski, Clive Tully, Steve Mason, Pietro Giovannoli, Joe Mearns, Robert Macenzie, James Brooke and Paul Sleightholm.

Who holds the World Record at the moment?

Both teams are racing to break the fastest powerboat circumnavigation World Record of 61 days currently held by Pete Bethune and Earthrace of New Zealand.
